Thursday I reported a bad link to JAMA Network. JAMA Network is comprised of the 13 journals of the American Medical Association. JAMA's press representative sent me an email as she sent out a corrected media advisory. I notice that, as part of her email signature, she included preferred pronouns.
It occurs to me that, if we — all of us boringly cisgender people — did so, then preferred pronouns become a matter of routine. Something that is not associated with transgender people. At the same time, we are promoting pronoun respect.
So here is an opportunity to be a “radical LGBTQ activist.” The Bard of South Beach (the late Angelo Dundee) would say: “It don't cost nuthin'.”
