Mad Mat Staver trots out his Islamophobia

Liberty Counsel, an anti-LGBT hate group, is also known for anti-Islamic hysterics by its leader Mat Staver. According to Mad Mat: Radical Islam defeats Army War College… without a shot. Staver goes on to write:
But in June, the War College waved the white flag . . . to radical Islam.

It crumbled under a media pressure campaign mounted by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) — a Hamas-linked apologist for Islam. CAIR sent PR salvos flying and the War College buckled, canceling a planned lecture on Islamic military history by scholar Raymond Ibrahim.

This is just one instance of radical Islam's power to shut down discussion and end debate on Islam's true nature within the U.S. government. But there's something you and I can — and must — do!
There is no evidence that CAIR is linked to Hamas. Raymond Ibrahim, a Coptic Christian of Egyptian descent, is linked to the far-right Middle East Forum. Ibrahim claims that there can be no such thing as a moderate Islam.

According to Ibrahim, if Muslims adhere to the Quran, they are compelled to engage in jihad or “struggle”— by persuasion, deceit or violence, if necessary — so Islam can triumph. Ibrahim told a group of students and other attendees at Everett Community College:
To a Muslim, jihad means a certain kind of struggle — spreading and empowering Islam against non-Muslims. Peace with non-Muslims is a provisional state only.
Ibrahim went on to invoke a notion from Islamic theology called “taqiyya,” which allows Muslims to lie in certain circumstances. Ibrahim argued that taqiyya is broadly used by apparently moderate Muslims whose real aim is to convert and control others.

When a member of the audience asked Ibrahim why most Islamic scholars in the United States condemned al-Qaida, he pointed to taqiyya. “It’s strategic. … It is a deception that is allowed by Islam.”

CAIR is obliged to prevent someone like Ibrahim from lecturing a group of senior officers at the Army War College which prepares them for leadership positions. Assigning CAIR's actions to radical Islam is inaccurate. Staver goes on at considerable length including this bit of disparagement:
Such censorship led directly to absurdities like “workplace violence” — the Pentagon's appalling term for the Fort Hood massacre. Major Nidal Hassan shouted "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is greatest) while slaughtering 13 people and wounding 42 at Fort Hood in 2009.

But the Pentagon averted its gaze — refusing to make the obvious link between Islam and a bloody killing spree done in the name of Allah.

In other words, the Pentagon whitewashed Islam.
But I suppose the real point is this:
