Brian S. Brown is now claiming that we are attacking churches

Brown will say anything for a buck.
Brian S. Brown
Brian S. Brown's latest appeal for National Organization for Marriage is titled: Attacking Churches.
One of the great blessings of living in the United States is that our Constitution promises that churches and religious institutions are largely able to operate in concert with their faith principles. This has been a bedrock of our country since its founding, but churches, pastors and religious institutions are now under direct assault like never before from the left, particularly from LGBT extremists.
Anyone who believes that LGBTQ people are entitled to Equal Protection and Due Process (which are also “Constitution promises”) is labeled an “extremist.” People who strive for equality are not extremists. The rhetoric continues but first:
Of course NOM never has — and never will — do anything to secure the religious liberty that Brown and others already enjoy. So do Jews, Protestants, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Scientologists. What Brown wants amounts to Christian Privilege which becomes more obvious as he continues to lie:
If the LGBT lobby gets its way and the grossly misnamed Equality Act is passed by Congress, many churches and religious entities will have to choose between being true to their faith principles or being subjected to claims of engaging in illegal discrimination, potentially subjecting them to ruinous lawsuits and even the loss of their tax exempt status.
The Equality Act would not affect churches in any way whatsoever. The Act would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Existing law does not interfere with the racist beliefs of Christian Identity churches. Aside from that lie, Brown is being deceptive regarding the Equality Act. It has no chance of becoming law while Republicans control the Senate and Trump is in the White House. Brian S. Brown knows that the Equality Act is a dead issue. Nevertheless:
Even if the Equality Act were viable, does anyone really believe that NOM would use their donated money to defeat it? Through 2017 NOM burned through $70 million with nothing to show for it. Meanwhile Brian S. Brown and others thoroughly looted NOM. Money donated to NOM went into their pockets illicitly and in addition to their compensation.
