How Thrilling - Walt Heyer's Paperback is For Sale at AFA

You can save the 15 bucks. Chances are pretty good that you've heard it all before.
Walt Heyer
Walt Heyer's book meets the definition of pulp fiction. In spite of Heyer's self-righteousness, he has been known to fib from time to time.

In case you are unfamiliar with the name, Walt Heyer is a noisy ex-trans person who found Jesus. These days Heyer is trying to convince people that no one should ever transition. That is how Heyer makes a living. That is also a defense of his conservative Christian faith.

Heyer had surgery about 40 years ago. Heyer has no training in medicine or counseling. His statements demonstrate that he knows nothing about gender dysphoria.

One Woman's Path to Unhinged Transphobia

Tracy Shannon
Unhinged and self-centered, Tracy Shannon is on an anti-LGBTQ crusade to mitigate her own animus.
via Alamy
[Texas] Mom tells harrowing story of how LGBT movement helped destroy her family

This truly ugly story underlines the deep malice the LGBT movement has for husbands, wives, families, children, and healthy sexuality.
I can summon up some empathy for Tracy Shannon. “Several years ago” her husband transitioned to female. That's not what she signed up for.

From there, however, Ms. Shannon has destroyed her own credibility. Shannon is consumed by negative activity. Shannon is always pissed off. Her acrimony has only increased as a result of Shannon becoming affiliated with MassResistance.

Is Anti-LGBTQ Batshit a Required Idiosyncrasy in Texas?

Jonathan Saenz
Joe Biden might best Donald Trump in Texas but the state remains an anti-LGBTQ fertilizer pit.
Friday, a post at American Family Association's blog is titled: LGBT groups: If you can't win, cheat. Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values is tewibly upset.

Hate Group Leader Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values came unglued in 2014 when his wife left him for her lesbian lover (which not to suggest that Saenz was rational or tolerant prior to that). There is no form of epoxy or weld that will put Saenz back together again.

So what is it that has Saenz so agitated? A rule regarding licensed social workers which includes:
A social worker shall not refuse to perform any act or service for which the person is licensed solely on the basis of a client's age; gender; race; color; religion; national origin; disability; sexual orientation; gender identity and expression; or political affiliation.
Earlier in the week, according to Saenz: Anti-Christian Policy Approved by State Health Council, Gov. Abbott’s Request Ignored.

Apparently Tony Perkins Expects Democrats To Take Control of the White House and Both Houses of Congress

Tony Perkins
Hate Group Leader Tony Perkins of Family Research Council is either:
  1. Convinced that Democrats will control both houses of Congress and that Biden will prevail or;
  2. he is trying to convince his supporters that Democrats will control both houses of Congress and that Biden will prevail.
Why else would Perkins send an email titled Help Us Defeat the So-Called "Equality Act!"?

The Equality Act, which would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, is only viable if Democrats control both houses of Congress and if Biden wins.

Ryan T. Anderson is Not an MD But He Plays One on Religious Blogs

“Ryan T. Anderson is willing to kill children if the teachings of the Church are defended. … Anderson is neither sane nor rational.”
Thursday. According to Ryan T. Anderson, Defender of the Faith™: Protect Good Medicine, Stop the Censorship of Good Counseling. Once again, this functional nitwit is promoting gender identity conversion therapy which can cause lifelong adverse mental health consequences.

Overall, Ryan T. Anderson is convinced that he is a great deal more intelligent than he really is. Anderson is also wed to the notion that he is an expert with respect to juvenile gender dysphoria.

None of Anderson's drivel has any connection to the best interests of children. This is a ridiculous exercise in trying to prevent people from becoming transgender lest they pose a contradiction to scripture.

Paul Cameron is Still a Mendacious Bigot

Paul Cameron is a liar and a bigot. Just a reminder that he is still around.
Paul Cameron
Dr. Paul Cameron circa 2017
via YouTube
Disgraced psychologist Paul Cameron (Family Research Institute) is still unhinged over LGBTQ people. On Monday he ran with Voters More Than 3:2 Against Biden's Transgender Rights Push.

In the way of background, here are just a few of Cameron's discredited assertions:
  • Gay people are all pedophiles.
  • Gay people have an average life expectancy about 20 years shorter than straight people.
  • Gay people are 43 times more likely to commit crimes than straight people.
  • Tolerance of homosexuality would cause gay sex to become predominant over heterosexual sex.

AFA is Peddling and Promoting an Anti-Gay Book

What Does the Bible Really Teach About Homosexuality
In an email today, American Family Association (an anti-LGBTQ hate group) is promoting a book for sale though AFA: What Does the Bible Really Teach About Homosexuality? by Kevin DeYoung. Fascinating no doubt.

DeYoung is a North Carolina pastor. According to the description:
After examining key biblical passages in both the Old and New Testaments and the Bible’s overarching teaching regarding sexuality, DeYoung responds to popular objections raised by Christians and non-Christians alike, making this an indispensable resource for thinking through one of the most pressing issues of our day.

Alliance Defending Freedom, an anti-LGBTQ hate group, has made it widely known that they will file pre-enforcement suits to prevent states and municipalities from enforcing nondiscrimination laws protecting LGBTQ people. The result was Covenant Weddings LLC v. Cuyahoga County, Ohio filed in the Northern District of Ohio federal court.

Thousands of Witches Plot 'Binding Spell' Tonight Against Trump

Embed from Getty Images
From the “you can't make this shit up” department:
As if battling House Democrats' impeachment inquiry against him weren't enough, President Donald Trump will next have to face a "binding spell" cast by "thousands" of witches late Friday night.
The above was supposed to happen last Friday. CBN News/Steve Warren explain how it all works:
Scheduled for Oct. 25 at 11:59 p.m., these self-proclaimed "witches" are planning to conduct a ritual which is meant to "bind," but not harm the president unlike a "curse" or a "hex." These witches believe they are doing something positive for the entire country by not allowing President Trump to cause harm to the U.S. by his actions.

Here's a Shocker: Franklin Graham is Angry

Franklin Graham is perpetually pissed.
Franklin Graham
via Ethan Hyman, AP
Preacher Franklin Graham has never re-hinged
. Graham's reaction to rulings in United States v. Windsor and then Obergefell v. Hodges are perhaps best described as Roy Horn (of Siegfried and Roy) being dragged offstage by his neck in the jaws of an angry tiger.

Franklin Graham's ire is now directed at Pope Francis. In an October 22 Facebook post Graham wrote:
The news has reported that Pope Francis said in a new documentary that “homosexuals have a right to be part of the family” and is calling for civil union laws for same-sex couples. I find these comments from the Pope unthinkable in light of the Word of God.

Anti-trans Crackpots in Concert - What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Jane Robbins and Michael K. Laidlaw
Jane Robbins and Michael K. Laidlaw
October 21 and 25, two Defenders of the Faith are working in concert to undermine the Endocrine Society's clinical practice guidelines. They attempt to do so by attacking the Society rather than the Society's guidelines. As you will see, both of these people are terribly confused.

On his website Dr. Michael K. Laidlaw claims to be a board certified endocrinologist. The Rocklin, California physician is not board certified by any specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In other words, Dr. Laidlaw is lying to potential patients.

Laidlaw's partner in confusion is Jane W. Robins. Robbins is retired from American Principles Project. She practices law out of Tucker, GA (about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta).

Rich Penkoski Goes to Court to Press His Daughter's 'Right' to be Odious

Hate Group Leader Rich Penkoski (Warriors for Christ) is seeking justice for his daughter, Brielle Penkoski. Brielle wore a shirt to school with the message “Homosexuality is a Sin.” The principal of the school, in Overton County, Tennessee, required her to change.

According to “Rev.” Rich, Brielle intends to wear that and other apparel containing offensive messages in the future. Therefore, they have gone to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee to secure Brielle's First Amendment rights to be obnoxious.

Will They EVER Stop Promoting the Pseudoscience of Conversion Therapy?

David Aucoin
Meet Pastor David Aucoin, purveyor of crackpottery
via Twitter
Thursday, Dave Aucoin of Rhode Island has authored Is Change Possible? It is posted to the blog of Family Policy Alliance, the political wing of Focus on the Family.

I have a certain disdain for rhetorical questions and the logical falacy of begging the question. That said, Mr. Aucoin is referring to conversion therapy to change sexual orientation or gender identity.

The short answer is “no,” change is not really possible. When Dr. Jack Turban was still with Harvard Medical School (now in a Stanford University fellowship) he led a team that determined that attempts to change gender identity are especially toxic, leading to a lifetime of adverse mental health consequences.

James Dobson wants to substitute his opinion based upon ancient texts for that of a child's doctors and parents.
James Dobson
via Lancaster Online, 2018
Something named the Kairos Company is apparently James Dobson's PR representative. It has posted Dr. James Dobson Denounces Biden's Willingness to Put Children in Harm's Way. The post is attributed to Kairos and there is no quoted material.

  • God speaks to Dobson.
    • Dobson speaks to Kairos.
    • On behalf of Daddy D., Kairos reveals the deity's word to the rest of us.
    • David reads this crap and passes it on to you.
Or something like that. But I digress.

In Brief: Teens "Losing Their Religion"

Thursday, a new post at Heritage Foundation's blog is titled: America’s Teenagers Are Losing Their Religion. The author is Timothy Goeglein whose day job is with Focus on the Family.

Mr. Goeglein writes:
Today’s teenagers are growing up in a society that is increasingly hostile to faith, especially regarding faith-based values, and the social cost of being identified as religious amongst [sic] one’s peers is getting higher with each passing day.
Oh poor you. The reason (from my perspective) that society is increasingly hostile to faith is because people of faith are increasingly hostile to our secular society. They live in an alternate reality.

No Jennifer Roback Morse - Abortion Does Not Induce Breast Cancer

The hate group leader identifies an anti-choice heroine and then gets her name wrong.
Angela Lanfranchi
Anti-choice warrior Angela Lanfranchi poses (through this photo) a real risk to women's health.
via Flickr, date unknown
If people are opposed to abortion, so be it. However, the holier-than-thou crowd has invented a supposed consequence of abortion as a means of attacking reproductive rights.

In an email today from Ruth Institute (an anti-LGBTQ hate group) we learn that Jennifer Roback Morse has interviewed “Dr. Angela LaFranchi,” (sic). The least she could do is to get the name of the crackpot correct. It is Angela Lanfranchi.

The title of the email is: Abortion Causes Breast Cancer. Here's Proof! It doesn't and the proof is nothing more than religious nonsense.

Hate Group Leader Smears Michelle Obama in Order to Ask for Money

The con: Manufacture a phony controversy and then use it to ask for money.
According to Brian S. Brown of International Organization for the Family — an anti-LGBTQ hate group: Michelle Obama Must Answer for Netflix Exploitation.

Brown would have people believe that Ms. Obama has an obligation (that she does not have) and that Netflix is exploitive (which it is not).

This is all about Neflix airing a French film called Cuties; a movie that Brian Brown doesn't like. The fact is that the religious right manufactured an idiotic controversy in order to solicit donations. That is what they do. They will seize on any excuse to contact supporters over some purported outrage.

The script then calls upon the group's constituency to solve the problem by donating money to the organization providing the email. If more people would question how their money will actually address an issue there would be less of this BS.

Trump Deputy Comms Director Has Ties to White Supremacy

Trans Youth Should Not Be Subjected to Religious Doctrine

We should all agree that the treatment of a child with a medical condition is a secular pursuit. We do not all agree.

9-year old trans girl.
via Netflix
Monday, Dr. Michael Brown wrote: Mr. Biden, Do You Really Advocate Sterilizing Children? The logical fallacy of begging the question has never been appreciated by Michael Brown in spite of the fact that Brown has a legitimate PhD.

Michael Brown is obsessed with transgender youth. Little wonder. Brown is a Christian convert with the extremism of a convert. For what seems like the thousandth time, religious conservatives believe that the existence of transgender people is in direct contradiction to Genesis 1:27.

Genesis was probably authored in the 6th century BCE. It makes perfect sense that medical science should be governed by ancient texts when life expectancy was about 30 years of age. Right?

NOM - Send Us Money and Barrett Will Overturn Obergefell

If confirmed for a seat on the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett is expected to rule in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
via Washington Post
Brian S. Brown, of National Organization for Marriage, is convinced that Amy Coney Barrett will overturn Obergefell v. Hodges but donations are necessary to make it happen. Brown idiotically calls the Obergefell ruling “illegitimate.”

Worrying about Obergefell in the abstract is pointless. Mr. Brown seems to think that the fact that the Catholic Church does not approve of marriage equality is sufficient for the Court to overturn the ruling. If there is some other reason for the Court to overturn a fairly recent decision, Brown fails to provide it.

In the final analysis Brian S. Brown wants the Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that has produced no discernible harms and has wide popular support. I am not sure that the votes are there and I do not know what arguments would be launched in opposition to marriage equality.

Friday, a post at Family Research Council's blog is titled: Why Joe Biden Is Wrong on Gender Transition for Eight-Year-Olds: FRC Action Explains. Oh do tell.

Peter Sprigg of Family Research Council (an anti-LGBTQ hate group) is smearing LGBTQ persons again. It is his favorite hobby. This time around he is combining the smear with an effort to ding Joe Biden's presidential campaign.

What Mr. Biden said was something to the effect that a transgender eight-year-old or ten-year-old should be free from discrimination. The folks at FRC are advocates of oppressing people that they do not approve of due to ancient superstitions.

The aforementioned blog post is a lead-in to a new pamphlet from Peter Sprigg. According to FRC, Sprigg's hatework “details the scientific evidence of long-term harm of gender transition procedures on minors.”

A New Conspiracy Theory Regarding Barrett's use of "Sexual Preference"

Yes, it's Dr. Michael Brown — again:
During her interaction with California Sen. Diane Feinstein Tuesday, Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett used the forbidden term "sexual preference" with reference to LGBT sexuality. Not only did this cause an instant internet firestorm, but it apparently led to an instant adjustment in a major online dictionary. The term is now officially "offensive" when used in the sense of "orientation."
Whether or not “sexual preference” is offensive depends, in part, upon who is using the term. Religious conservatives intentionally replace sexual orientation with sexual preference to convey the idea that homosexuality is a choice.

We cannot know for sure. However, I would have to guess that Amy Coney Barrett was regurgitating a phrase common in her orbit. According to ultra-conservative Catholics, there are no gay people. Rather, there are people who, from time to time, experience “same-sex attraction;” a condition that can be cured with prayer.

A Hate Grouper Moves Along Then Tells Me What I Am Thinking

Joseph Backholm
Joseph Backholm
via DoucheTube

Last I heard, Joseph Backholm left Family Policy Institute of Washington to join the Colson Center. Backholm is famous for his failed petition efforts in Washington State. It is my considered opinion that one of these was a scam to put money into the Christian supremacist's pockets.

Joseph Backholm is now with Family Research Council, an anti-LGBTQ hate group. On Tuesday he wrote: The Left’s (Real) Issue with Amy Coney Barrett for FRC's blog. Apparently, according to the title, people who oppose Barrett's confirmation have obfuscated their motivations.

I will get to the LGBTQ issues that Backholm details. However, Backholm first says that the real objection to Barrett is over abortion:

Wednesday, Jennifer Roback Morse (Ruth Institute) and Brian Camenker (Mass Resistance) are upset with Apparently (and I only learned this today) has decided not to sell Mass Resistance's anti-LGBTQ book.

The book is titled The Health Hazards of Homosexuality. It makes about as much sense as claiming that people should not be Black because they have the increased potential of being harmed by police and for contracting sickle cell anemia.

Ashkenazi Jews (including moi) are in deep shit too. We are prone to contract a number of lovely diseases. Conversion wouldn't help a bissel bubbeleh. I will have to settle for being an evil influence.

The Regularly Scheduled Shitfit Over Rainbow Oreo Cookies

Rainbow Oreos

Victoria Gisondi seems to be a full-time literalist Catholic. Nabisco — the maker of Oreos — has ruined Gisondi's whole day (Tuesday).

I get it. Gisondi does not approve of LGBTQ people. Therefore, Ms. Gisondi does not approve of rainbow Oreo cookies. Ms. Gisondi required about 200 incoherent words to express her opprobrium. You would think that she would have something more productive to do.

Instead, she has invested considerable time and effort into looking spectacularly stupid.

Dear Judge Barrett: What is Your "Sexual Preference?"

Reverse Cowgirl
Based upon her testimony Amy Coney Barrett is confused over the difference between sexual preferences and sexual orientation. I thought that a very small sample of sexual preferences might be helpful.

To avoid further confusion — and given the fact that Ms. Barrett is a heterosexual female (I think) — I will address heterosexual preferences which eliminates having to designate a passer and a receiver (while the goal line remains the same):
Plain, vanilla, boring sex. Woman on her back. Male makes a frontal assault.

Speaking of Blatant and Illegal Election Activity ...

Bill Donohue
via Catholic League
Blowhard Bill Donohue of the rabidly anti-LGBTQ Catholic League is blatantly breaking the law by campaigning in opposition to Joe Biden. The Internal Revenue Service makes no distinction between campaigning for or against any candidate:
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.
According to Bloward Bill's post on Catholic League's blog titled Left Wing Religious Leaders Like Biden:
It is being reported that the Biden campaign is bragging about the support the Democratic presidential candidate is getting from 1,600 faith leaders. They shouldn’t. Vote Common Good is a motley crew of left-wing activists who are more a liability than an asset to the Biden campaign.

Michael Brown: "Why Does Facebook Discriminate Against Gays?"

How many people do they have to fuck up to get a handful who claim that conversion therapy works?
Dr. Michael Brown

Reliable anti-LGBTQ polemicist, Michael Brown, asks Why Does Facebook Discriminate Against Gays?

It might seem petty but we should not tolerate changing the adjective “gay” into the noun “gays.” We are gay people. That said, Mr. Brown thinks he is a great deal cleverer than he really is:
Why does Facebook treat gays unfairly? Why does it put them in a special class, telling them they must remain gay, even if they want to change?

Why does Facebook suppress the stories of those who have changed—and are much happier for it—rather than give them the space to choose for themselves?

Hate Group's Blatant (and illegal) Political Activity

The above is explicit and unambiguous.

The Same People Are Still Trying to "Prove" That Gay Couples are Crappy Parents

It is hard to fathom why people continue to a) oppose marriage equality and; b) do so through unqualified people attempting to denigrate thoroughly settled science.
Friday I received an email from Austin Institute (of Mark Regnerus1 and Luis Tellez2 fame) promoting a paper titled: Are Mothers and Fathers Interchangeable Caregivers?

The article is published to a third-rate journal (more on that later), Marriage & Family Review. The abstract does not mention gay parenting. However, everyone involved in this project has been obsessed over marriage equality for many years. Parenting is their core — and flimsy — argument in favor of marriage discrimination.

Ever since marriage equality came to Massachusetts in 2004, the principal argument of the faithful has been that gay people should not be allowed to marry because they are terrible parents. It never made any sense. It was the best they could do to voice a seemingly secular argument to support a religious objection. It is a lie.

Hate Group Whines About Americans' Acceptance of Marriage Equality

Hate group, American Family Association teems up with Alex McFarland to bitch about same-sex marriage.

Newt Gingrich Confirms My Theory That Crazy Is Contagious

Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich, told Tucker Carlson last night that a Harris-Biden November election victory will likely result in the cancellation of Carlson's show. According to Newt, “These are people who love power…you won’t be on the air anymore, Fox will probably become the equivalent of PBS, and they simply won’t tolerate it.”

Who knew that the president and vice president had some control over Fox programming? How did that work out during the Obama administration?

Mr. Brown Wants Some Money So That Barrett Can Overturn Obergefell

  1. First the obvious: There is absolutely nothing that Brian S. Brown and National Organization for Marriage can do to influence either Barrett's confirmation or the rulings of the Supreme Court.
  2. Secondly, there is no case currently before any court that challenges the ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges. The Court cannot simply reconsider a case that has already been resolved.
I have already written about Alito's and Thomas' displeasure with the ruling in Obergefell. It is the same objection that they had voiced in dissent five years ago.

While Many of Us Watch the VP Debate, Catholic TV Will Attack LGBTQ Persons

“If there is evil it has a home in souls of those people who denigrate others.”
Eternal World Television Network (EWTN) is featuring a film this evening that attacks LGBTQ people because of scripture and the opinions of unqualified people at the Vatican. As LifeSiteNews attempts to explain: Tonight: EWTN premieres film exposing gender ideology.
A new film premiering tonight on EWTN takes viewers on a journey into the “who, what, when, how and why” of today’s dystopian era of gender confusion. Titled “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing II — The Gender Agenda,” it tells the stories of the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who have shaped our world troubled by the agendas of homosexuality and gender ideology.

The film’s goal is to open viewers’ eyes to the people and events that have radically redefined and corrupted the nature of the human person, of marriages, families and cultures.

Changing platforms

Google changed the Blogger interface a couple of weeks ago and it is an unmitigated disaster. Every post takes twice as long to complete.

I always write in raw HTML and then tidy up in the composer. Spell-check used to work within HTML code. It no longer does.

Now, every use of the composer creates awful HTML code that is then difficult to edit. Edits in raw HTML are then compromised because the spacing of elements is terrible. Nothing is where it should be.

To make matters worse, the composer relentlessly inserts hard spaces for no apparent reason. These change the text wrap.

I Wonder if I Could Encourage the Virus to Find a Home in Clarence Thomas

Clarence Thomas makes no sense at all. That is probably because he is defending Catholic dogma which, in his warped mind, is superior to pragmatic judicial judgment.

Today, the Supreme Court turned away a request from Kim Davis to disqualify a lawsuit against her. Davis claimed that she has qualified immunity. That gave Thomas a chance to make some inane comments about marriage equality. (via CBS News.)
… in a scathing statement joined by Justice Samuel Alito, he criticized the Supreme Court's 2015 decision and said it "bypassed the democratic process" and left people with religious objections to same-sex marriage "in the lurch."

Coral Ridge Ministries Media dba D. James Kennedy Ministries is an ant-LGBTQ hate group. Leader Frank W. Wright, for example, was in a frenzy last April because some (actually most) Christians are not as bigoted towards LGBTQ people as he is.

Frank W. Wright does not like George Soros. The Anti-Defamation League believes that many of the attacks on Soros are inherently anti-Semitic.

According to Mr. Wright:

ADF Challenging VA Nondiscrimination Law

Faulty Assumptions:
  1. People have a religious duty to discriminate and;
  2. discriminatory conduct is protected by the constitutional guarantee of Free Exercise.
Alliance Defending Freedom is an anti-LGBTQ hate group — for good cause. With nominal plaintiffs, ADF has gone to federal court to nullify the nondiscrimination law of the Commonwealth of Virginia which became effective in July.

The case is captioned Updegrove v. Herring. The full identity of the plaintiff is Robert Updegrove, and Loudoun MultiImages LLC d/b/a Bob Updegrove Photography. Herring is Virginia's AG.

NOM has a new video supporting Amy Coney Barrett which doesn't support Amy Coney Barrett

Apparently this masterpiece was produced by Frank Schubert. Aside from the misleading sequences, what do protests of police misconduct have to do with the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett?

On the whole the overwhelming majority of protests have been peaceful and law-abiding. Some property destruction did occur. Some of it was done by protesters. Some of it was done by counter-protesters who incited violence. Some of it was created by unnecessary police violence.

Heritage Yahoo: How the Equality Act Would be Harmful to Children

Heritage Foundation does not believe that liberty (depicted in the background) applies to LGBTQ people.
Surely no one is surprised that Heritage Foundation is staffed — at least in part — by anti-LGBTQ bigots. The organization employs Ryan T. Anderson who is no less toxic than a Klansman or Neo-Nazi.

Yes I am comparing Anderson to Klansmen and Nazis who are also conservative Christians. Heritage's Andrea Jones apparently reports to Ryan T. Anderson. Thursday, Jones does the expected with: 4 Ways the Equality Act Would Harm Children.

Ms. Jones is obsessed. Since mid-February she has written ten posts for Heritage's blog. Eight of those are anti-LGBTQ diatribes filled with lies and innacuracies.
