Polemicist ponders Jesus' disapproval of homosexuality

R.L. David Jolly
R.L. David Jolly is not overly fond of gay people
Image via Twitter
R.L. David Jolly (not the former Congress Critter) writes: Did Jesus Approve of Homosexuality?. Predictably, Mr. Jolly cites sufficient scripture to conclude that Jesus did not approve of homosexuality. He is correct. I agree.

The understanding of homosexuality throughout the Roman Empire was not the same as it is today. What Jesus knew to be homosexuality was the conduct of heterosexual patrician men having sex with young slave boys. Doing so was perfectly acceptable in Roman high society as long as the elite was the “top.”

Discourtesy is not optional for Al Mohler - It is required

Al Mohler
Photo: Courier-Journal
Al Mohler thinks it is necessary for Christians to demonstrate their ignorance. According to one Kiley Crossland:
Transgender activists proclaimed Wednesday as the first International Pronoun Day, dedicated to the idea that “referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is a basic human dignity.” More than 300 nonprofit organizations, government groups, businesses, colleges, and universities signed on to celebrate the so-called holiday.

Shame on you Virgin Atlantic for promoting the homosexual agenda

Virgin Atlantic Pride
Virgin Atlantic's planned Pride Flights have conservative Christians engaging in a shame-fest
Image via
Someone named James Risdon writes: Airline to host exclusive homosexual ‘pride’ party at 38,000 feet with ‘inter-seat speed dating’. I can assure you that Mr. Risdon is not writing a promotional piece for Virgin Atlantic.

The first utterances of a conservative Christian toddler are neither “mama” nor “dada.” They are more likely to sound like “tsk, tsk.” Utterances of shame and disapproval are fundamental to religious fundamentalism. In all matters those religious conservatives are convinced that their approval is being solicited.

Regnerus puts science and dogma into the food processor and - Voila!

Mark Regnerus
Image via Right Wing Watch
Mark Regnerus has a new post at the blog of Witherspoon Institute. It is titled: The Future of American Sexuality and Family: Five Key Trends. According to Dr. Regnerus, married gay couples are extremely prosperous but few in number. Regnerus is relying on a recent paper published by Tax Policy Center. As an aside, check out their three-digit zip code sort of same-sex marriages.

The problem is obvious. Only through joint returns can we glean some insight into same-sex marriage. Individual tax filers do not provide evidence one way or the other. The Center's policy brief outlines the many challenges and admits to many assumptions. It is good work. Just not authoritative.

Twitter whacked Mr. LaBarbera

Peter LaBarbera
Image via Right Wing Watch
According to Peter LaBarbera he has been banned by Twitter, LaBarbera is not happy about it. Not at all. Apparently he tweeted his usual nonsense about gay sex being a sin and spreading disease, In a letter or email to Twitter, LaBarbera writes:
If Twitter no longer allows its users to advocate for healthy behaviors on its platform, and to defend their sincere moral and religious beliefs--shared by billions worldwide--then it will devolve into a bland, politically correct echo-chamber. That not only would fail to serve Twitter's mission but would undermine liberty and American democracy as well.

Ryan T. Anderson combines his two favorite anti-LGBT hobbies

“Anderson is going to tell them what they want to hear. Therefore, his audience will learn nothing.”
2015 Image via Heritage Foundation
Thursday evening, Ryan T. Anderson will be giving one of his lectures at St. John Lutheran Church in Roanoke, VA. The topic tonight is: “Male & Female He Created Them: Marriage and the Transgender Moment.

Anderson sports a doctorate from Notre Dame. However, his opinions are not the product of some sort of cerebral examination. Not at all. Intellectual endeavors are supposed to start with a question, then an hypothesis and then a search for truth; all of which leads to an evidentiary conclusion. The accuracy of that conclusion is predicated upon the critical thinking skills of the investigator and the absence of bias. Proving an hypothesis wrong is as valuable as proving it to be correct.

Dr. Michael Brown is quite confused over the Kelvin Cochran settlement

Dr. Michael Brown
Michael Brown writes: Another Major Victory for Religious Freedom in America. I wrote about the economic logic of this settlement this morning. No sense repeating myself but this was all about dollars and cents given the favorable rulings that the judge delivered to Atlanta in December.

According to Brown:
On Jan. 9, 2015, I wrote an article titled, "The Mayor of Atlanta Declares War on Religious Freedom." Now, more than three and a half years later, sanity has prevailed and religious freedoms have been preserved. Atlanta must pay up.

AFA's endless promotion of anti-transgender bigotry

For gay people, opposition to transgender oppression affirms our humanity. Gays should also be cognizant of the Martin Niemöller proposition (“First they came for…”).
Tim Wildmon
Hate group leader Tim Wildmon of American Family Association is particularly obsessed with transgender people.
According to American Family Association: Crazy transgender restroom question on Mass. ballots. The unhinged offering comes to us from one of their propagandists, Chris Woodward. Woodward is correct in one sense. It is crazy to attempt to strip Massachusetts law of transgender protections. Particularly so when you consider that the existing laws have not actually harmed anyone.

Perhaps it is religious zealotry that is crazy

The Kelvin Cochran settlement

Kelvin Cochran
Image via
On Monday, Atlanta's city council voted to pay ousted fire chief Kelvin Cochran $1.2 million. An undisclosed portion of that sum will be used to reimburse Alliance Defending Freedom (an anti-LGBT hate group) and others for legal fees.

In addition to ADF, Cochran was represented by two Georgia lawyers: Garland Raphael Hunt of Hunt Associates and Jonathan Dean Crumly, Sr. of Taylor English Duma. How much is going to be left over for Cochran is unknown.

Cochran, you might recall, self-published a highly offensive book which he distributed to some employees of the fire department. In his book, Cochran compared homosexuality to bestiality. He also called gay people perverts. Cochran was terminated in late 2014 and litigation has been ongoing since early 2015.

A good way to PRECLUDE a meaningful dialog

 Dr. Rachel McKinnon
Dr. Rachel McKinnon, Trans athlete
Image via Twitter
Tuesday, Cathy Ruse of Family Research Council writes: Man Steals Gold Medal From Top Woman in World Cycling Race. Over the years I have noticed that nothing ever gets settled by, or with, the religious right. I do not believe that they want to settle anything. Persecution of Christians has been a reliable means of filling their coffers.

Getting back to Ms. Ruse, she writes:
On Sunday, a biological male won the women’s UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championship in Los Angeles in the 35-39 age category, taking the gold from the second-place finisher who is actually a woman (image below).

FRC attacks the SPLC - Reveals why it is considered a hate group

“Mr. Perkins cannot help himself. While he is trying to discredit the SPLC he is demonstrating why his organization is considered a hate group in the first place.”
Tony Perkins
Hate group leader Tony Perkins, Family Research Council
Image via Fox News video
Monday evening Tony Perkins, leader of Family Research Council, sent out an email titled: “Parents put on notice:” The banner reads:
SPLC Labels Christian Parents A “Hate Group”… We Must Push Back
I will get to those Christian parents shortly. Family Research Council is, in point of fact, a an anti-LGBT hate group. FRC earned that designation by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2010. According to FRC's website:

Peter Sprigg is again promoting pseudoscientific conversion therapy

According to the American Psychological association, conversion therapy is ineffective and possibly harmful.
Peter Sprigg
Peter Sprigg - The hate group's anti-LGBT specialist
Image via YouTube
Monday, Peter Sprigg writes: Allied for Truth and Freedom Regarding Unwanted Same-Sex Attractions for Family Research Council's blog. Family Research Council is an anti-LGBT hate group. Peter Sprigg is FRC's anti-LGBT specialist.

What is FRC's stake in promoting conversion therapy?

Family Research Council's only interest in conversion therapy is the justification of discrimination. If conversion therapy worked (and there is no peer-reviewed research in support of that contention) then FRC can claim that sexual orientation is a choice. Thus it is not an immutable condition that should be protected by nondiscrimination laws.

AFA and James Dobson promote Christian privilege for the bigoted baker

James Dobson advocates for Christian Privilege
Image via YouTube
Michael F. Haverluck, a propagandist for American Family Association, has written: New charges vs. Colo. Christian baker after his SCOTUS win. AFA is an anti-LGBT hate group which is reflected in Haverluck's invective:
Renewed discrimination charges against Christian baker Jack Phillips have been waged in federal court – despite his victory in the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) this summer allowing him to decline making a pro-LGBT “wedding cake” – as the state of Colorado is now arguing that the replacement of members in its Civil Rights Commission gives it the right to resuscitate its attack.

R/W theorists continue to claim that Matthew Shepard was complicit in his own murder

Matthew Shepard
On October 26, a little more than 20 years after his murder, Matthew Shepard will be interred at the Washington National Cathedral. This event is bringing out the usual right wing cranks who insist that Shepard was complicit in his own murder. According to Charlie Nash, a tech writer at Breitbart:
20 Years Later, Media Still Claims Matthew Shepard Murder Was Homophobic Hate Crime

20 years after the brutal murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard, media outlets are still claiming the attack was motivated by homophobia, despite evidence which suggests Shepard was in a sexual relationship with one of the attackers.

The Sprigg receives an award

(L-R) Peter Sprigg, anti-LGBT specialist at hate group Family Research Council and faux psychiatrist Keith Vennum, head of the oddly named Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity (FKA NARTH).
Peter Sprigg, the anti-LGBT specialist for Family Research Council, has received an impressive award. The prestigious Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity (formerly known as NARTH) has given Mr. Sprigg its “President's Award.” The president of ATCSI is Dr. Keith Vennum. Vennum claims to be a psychiatrist (he specializes in conversion “therapy”). However his only board certification is in anesthesiology.

Sprigg is, indeed, a champion of pseudoscientific conversion therapy. The reason he is and the reason it exists is not to help anyone. The existence of conversion therapy is used to justify discrimination and to fight against nondiscrimination laws. Were it valid science then one could possibly claim that sexual orientation and gender identity are choices rather than immutable characteristics.

Four Reasons "Glenn T. Stanton" is Ridiculous

“For Stanton, this is about convincing himself that Stanton-World is in alignment with Jesus-World.”
Glenn T. Stanton
I thought that The Weekly Standard was more discerning. Nevertheless on Wednesday the outlet published a piece by Glenn T. Stanton titled: Four Reasons “Gender Theory” Is Ridiculous. Stanton is a propagandist for Focus on the Family.

Conservative Christians have a very difficult time with non-binary sexuality. For that matter they have a religious objection to valid science: That gender is a separate construct from natal sex and that, for a small minority of people, gender and natal sex are incongruent. Moreover, it is settled science that gender is a continuum with male and female at the extreme ends. However, scripture is binary; men and women. For folks like Stanton, when scripture competes with science, those ancient texts prevail.

AFA is also an anti-immigrant hate group

Tim Wildmon
Hate group leader Tim Wildmon (AFA)
Image via YouTube
Thursday, according to American Family Association, an anti-LGBT hate group: More anchor babies born to illegals in L.A. than 14 states' total births. “Anchor baby” is a pejorative term that is intended to promote mythology. According to the widely held but utterly untrue narrative, undocumented immigrants intentionally produce babies in order to create an affirmative defense to deportation; an anchor to the United States.

The child is, in fact, a United States citizen. However, in no way does this serve as a defense in deportation proceedings. The only possible exceptions are if the child is desperately ill or disabled. If the child remains in the United States, at the age of 21 he or she could apply for reunification which, if all the hurdles are cleared, takes another five to ten years.

Oh crap, it's Barronelle time again

Barronelle Stutzman
Image via The Tennessee Star
Alliance Defending Freedom, an anti-LGBT hate group, is raising money off of ADF's and Barronelle Stutzman's notion of Christian Supremacy: One set of laws for Christians and another for everyone else.

In 2013 Barronelle Stutzman decided that she would not sell flowers intended for display at a gay wedding “because of [her] relationship with Jesus Christ.” Actually, I think that Jesus would have been happy to sell the damned flowers. Stutzman's defiance of Washington's nondiscrimination law began a legal adventure that continues to this day and is likely to continue for a few more years.

I'll wait while you pour yourself another cup of coffee before I go through this saga. … … … Ready? Okay:

The hyperbolic anti-transgender, idiotic bombast du jour

Natasha Chart
Natasha Chart claims to have a feminist
objection to trans people. It reads more
like conservative Christian boilerplate
Image via The Federalist
Wednesday, Natasha Chart posts: If Liking Dresses Makes A Boy Transgender, Half The Men In History Were Trans. The subtitle of this tantrum reads:
If liking dresses is enough to make a boy ‘really’ a girl, is disliking them enough to make a girl ‘really’ a boy? At what age should such an interest be counted as life-determining?
But first some background:

Instructions on how to proselytize LGBT people are an alienation howto

I am less interested in David Hoffman than the toxic belief system he exposes.
David Hoffman
David Hoffman, "Spirit-Filled Evangelist" in Tuscon
Image via Kingdom Enterprise
Referring to himself on Wednesday, David Hoffman writes: Spirit-Filled Evangelist: How to Share the Undiluted Gospel With an LGBT Person. I am sure that Hoffman is quite sincere in his beliefs but he needs to augment them with some facts.

I had to do some work with my database to track down Hoffman's little 501(c)3 which he would like you to believe is massive. While he promotes Kingdom Enterprises, the IRS has it as Kingdom Enterprise (singular). It files annual reports by e-postcard (revenues less than $50K) and its ruling as a nonprofit was in May, 2016.

We are reminded of just how dangerous trans people are

Jonathon Van Maren is obsessed
with the sexuality of others
Image via LifeSiteNews
Tuesday, Jonathon Van Maren writes: Trans activists demand everyone be pro-LGBT – at the expense of reality. Oh joy. Another conservative Christian ignoramus who thinks that gender identity is a philosophy or that gender as a separate construct does not exist. Van Maren is an unhinged conspiracy theorist who specializes in disparaging LGBT people.

I have observed that the greater the denigration the more likely it is that the denigrator is in the closet.

Apparently that presidential alert test was an urgent call to prayer

Grant Berry
Grant Berry
Image via YouTube
Tuesday, Grant Berry informs us: Prophetic Intercessor Sounds Romans 911 Alarm. Superb! Berry, by the way is referring to himself as the intercessor. The title of his post is the title of his book. I am certain that it is a page-turner.

On September 15, FEMA announced: “The National EAS and WEA test will be held on the backup date of October 3, 2018, beginning at 2:18 p.m. EDT.” At 2:18 it seems that everyone with a cell phone did receive a test of the presidential alert system. No, Mr. Trump. This is not like Twitter.

Do people really believe this crap?

James W. Goll
Dr. James W. Goll is a clever little grifter
James W. Goll is the head of Encounters Network, a Ministry to the Nations which does business as God Encounters Ministries. Based in Franklin, TN the nonprofit reported income of $462 thousand for the year ended June 30, 2017. Goll also has a tiny nonprofit called A Wing & a Prayer.

The purpose of Encounters seems to be to sell Goll's books (including The Lifestyle of a Prophet) for which he, personally, receives royalties. In other words, at least the appearance is that the tax-deducted contributions (which we all subsidize) are used to promote and market a for-profit enterprise. The tax return has a number of errors making it impossible to sort out.

First Round of Brazil's Presidential Election Goes to an Anti-LGBT Extremist

John Oliver explains the bigotry of Jair Bolsonaro
Extreme right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro has won the first round of Brazil's presidential election. Bolsonaro will new be pitted against São Paulo Mayor Fernando Haddad in an October 28 runoff.

Bolsonaro supporters were quite effective at intimidating the supporters of his opponent into not voting. An already violent culture (65,000 murders last year) has become even more aggressive. Numerous LGBT people have reported being assaulted by gangs supporting Bolsonaro. Before a soccer match in São Paulo, people were chanting, “homos be careful. Bolsonaro will kill all faggots,” That threat is all too real.

Michelle Cretella leaves daisies in her wake

“Parents with gender diverse children should simply eliminate the middle person and take their kid to a priest because that would have the same outcome as Cretella's errant advice.”
Michelle Cretella
Michelle Cretella of American College of Pediatricians and American Family Association, both hate groups, are desperate to mislead parents regarding gender diversity.
Image via YouTube
Monday, hate groups American Family Association and American College of Pediatricians coalesce to provide Parents facing incorrect pressure to affirm transition. According to one of AFA's propagandists, Bob Kellogg:
A nationally-known pediatrician says wrong assumptions are being made about a new study that says transgender teens attempt suicide more frequently than teens in general.

New study on adolescent sexual minority suicide

It should come as no surprise that LGBT adolescents are at greater risk for attempting suicide.
Image: Pixabay (public domain)
Monday: JAMA-Pediatrics has released a new study this morning titled: Risk of Attempted Suicide Among Sexual Minority Adolescents.

Suicide is among the leading causes of death for adolescents. This study estimated the risk of attempted suicide among sexual minority adolescents and differentiated between sexual minority groups (homosexual, bisexual and transgender). The study confirms that transgender kids have the highest potential risk but notes that all sexual minorities are “burdened” with heightened risk.

Katy Faust's "Transgender Treatment Plan"

“…trans youth who make the social transition at a young age are doing remarkably well. They have depression rates comparable to their peers and only slightly elevated rates of anxiety. They also show very strong self-esteem.”
Dr. Kristina Olson, researcher and

The CanaVox channel on Vimeo is featuring a new video from (“Ask The Bigot”) Katy Faust. If we are to believe Faust, she has received a letter from someone whose eight-year-old nephew is transgender. The author's sister has had the child examined by specialists (plural). The specialists, according to the alleged author, recommended changing his name and putting him on puberty blockers. Out of concern she contacted Faust.

Florida voter registration deadline - Tuesday, October 9

Mad as hell? Online registration takes just a few minutes.
Republicans do not want you to vote. They know that heavier turnout favors progressive candidates. Not voting is effectively a vote for the anti-LGBT, anti-choice politicians that hate group leaders like Tony Perkins, Mat Staver and Brian S. Brown endorse. Republicans do not want you to vote:
  • If you do not vote, Rick Scott could defeat Bill Nelson in the race for Nelson's Senate seat.
  • If you do not vote, you are enabling Republicans to put more political operatives like Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

TransYouth project founder receives a MacArthur "genius grant"

Dr. Kristina Olson
Dr. Kristina Olson is one of the nation's leading experts on transgender youth.
Dr. Kristina Olson is now a winner of a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation fellowship. She will receive a grant in the amount of $625,000 with no strings attached. How the grant will be utilized is entirely up to Dr. Olson. MacArthur fellowships are commonly referred to as a “genius grant.”

Dr. Olson, with University of Washington, started the TransYouth project in 2013 and has recruited over 300 children as participants. In April Dr. Olson was named the winner of the National Science Federation's Alan T. Waterman Award. It is the government's highest honor for scientists still in the early phases of their careers. The award comes with a $1 million grant which Olson will use to continue her study of transgender children.

ED investigation and that alleged transgender sexual assault

This story is a work in progress. There is much that we do not know.
As many of you are probably aware, the US Department of Education (ED—[not DOE (a pet peeve)]) is investigating the alleged assault of a five-year-old girl by a transgender child in a girls' bathroom at a Georgia school in November, 2017. A source familiar with this matter informs me that the age of the alleged perpetrator is “comparable to” the alleged victim. I am trying to nail that down.

On May 22, Alliance Defending Freedom, an anti-LGBT hate group sent a “narrative” of this incident as a complaint to unidentified recipients. Presumably this was sent to the City Schools of Decatur* and to ED. The complaint was signed by Roger G. Brooks with ADF in Washington DC and Vernadette R. Broyles, an anti-LGBT lawyer in Norcross. GA. The complaint became OCR [Office of Civil Rights] Complaint No. 04-18-1576. ADF, by the way, claims that both students are “well below the age of majority.

The hypocrisy of Kavanaugh support vs. scare tactics in opposition to trans accommodations

These same people were indifferent to the credible allegations of sexual abuse by Brett Kavanaugh.
Tim Wildmon
Hate group leader Tim Wildmon

Thursday, American Family Association, an anti-LGBT hate group, provides us with: Campaign to protect children's privacy delivers another push. According to the sanctimonious Christian conservatives:
An organization known as "Keep MA Safe" is urging voters in Massachusetts to repeal a 2016 law allowing anyone – even a convicted sex offender – to claim any gender, regardless of anatomy, and use the bathroom or locker room facility based on the claimed gender.

Blowhard Bill Donohue is as competent at smearing gay men as anyone

Bill Donohue
Pope Bill Donohue
Image via South Park
Thursday, Bill Donohue writes: “SOUTH PARK” CREATORS ARE COWARDS (blowhard Bill likes capital letters). Donohue is upset with a South Park episode depicting a priest abusing a child as a pedophile. According to Donohue that is incorrect. Those priests are not pedophiles, they are homosexuals. Blowhard Bill is wrong.

Bill Donohue is the self-appointed apologist for the Catholic Church in spite of the fact that he is a divorced man. Out of a very small advocacy organization (the Catholic League) Donohue pulls down over $500,000 per year. The Catholic League doesn't really do anything. That explains why, at the end of 2017, the organization was sitting on assets over $45 million.

As much as I hate writing about Linda Harvey ...

“…the abuse of children by Catholic priests is not related to homosexuality”
Linda Harvey
Hate group leader Linda Harvey of Mission: America
Image via YouTube
Tuesday, Linda Harvey writes: ‘LGBTQ’ Activists at ‘Devoted’ Youth Pastor Conference. I am writing about Harvey today because she is claiming that gay men are predisposed to be pedophiles or pedarists.

I prefer not to write about Linda P. Harvey because she is part of the lunatic fringe. Harvey is a bigot who runs a very small hate group called Mission: America. It is not federally tax-exempt. Donations are not tax deductible. According to the Ohio secretary of state it is located at 3770 Kloka Ave, Columbus, OH 43220.

Mad Mat Staver has gone unhinged again

Mat Staver
Hate group leader Mat Staver, Liberty Counsel

Hate group leader Mat Staver (Liberty Counsel) has gone unhinged yet again. Mad Mat simply cannot accept the fact that school districts seek to keep transgender and gender nonconforming students safe. They also strive to provide gender diverse students with an opportunity to succeed. What is wrong with any of that?

According to Staver, in a Christian Newswire press release, it is: 'Transition' Without Parental Consent. As you might expect, Staver is wrong in every conceivable way. According to this fanciful treatise:

No Mr. Brown - There is nothing hypocritical about ridiculing a closeted anti-gay GOPer

While auditioning for Jeff Sessions' job, Lindsey Graham has several dramatic hissy fits in support of Brett Kavanaugh
I cannot determine the pretext du jour for Brian S. Brown's latest money-beg on behalf of the anti-LGBT National Organization for Marriage. Brown usually, and shamelessly, comes up with some nonsensical reason for people to send him some money which isn't even tax deductible.

The title of Tuesday's plea is: being anti-gay is now… okay? No homophobia is unacceptable in polite society which is why Brown is not acceptable in polite society. Religion does not excuse bigotry,

A creationist to hold an anti-LGBT event at a hate group

“The audience will nod their heads in agreement according to the religious choreography but they are being instructed in the art of ignorance.”
The quote at the top is from Robert P. George
Nancy Pearcey will be speaking at Family Research Council on Wednesday. The topic of her talk will be her new book: Love Thy Body. I am sure that it is a compelling page-turner. This event burnishes Family Research Council's credentials as an anti-LGBT hate group.

In evangelical Christian circles, Nancy Pearcey is held out as an intellectual. Pearcey is also a fellow at Discovery Institute. She is responsible for promoting “intelligent design” through the media, her writing, personal appearances and events.

David Lane claims that God will cause San Francisco to implode

The aim of American Renewal Project is to effect a Christian theocracy in America.
Image via American Renewal Project/Vimeo
David Lane, founder of American Renewal Project, is a selective moralist. in 2015 the creepy Republican operative engaged in a conspiracy to evade tax laws. Tuesday he writes: This City Is on the Verge of Implosion Following Its Spiritual Departure From the Faith of Its Founders.

Lane is referring to San Francisco. As you will eventually see, Lane's real interest is electoral politics. He goes on to write:
San Francisco is on the verge of implosion following its spiritual departure from the faith of its founders.

Unmarried same-sex partners of diplomats will no longer get US visas

That “great friend” of ours has done it again. The Trump administration will no longer issue G4 visas to the unmarried domestic partners of people who work at the United Nations, NATO, the World Bank, the IMF and other organizations. Those currently in the United States have been given until the end of the year to marry or leave the country.

Citizens of conservative nations might put themselves at risk if it is discovered that they married in the United States. Some would face the prospect of lengthy prison sentences and even physical punishment. Worldwide, 26 of 195 countries have legalized same-sex marriage. Citizens of the remaining 169 countries have a problem.

Nat'l Catholic Register: "Is Transgenderism in Teens Contagious?"

Michelle Cretella makes another appearance to spread her nonsense on behalf of the Church.
Marcia Segelstein interviews Michelle Cretella re: trans youth
It would be easy to overlook a post by Marcia Segelstein at National Catholic Register. However, NCR has an enormous readership and posts are echoed elsewhere.

When it comes to the health care of their children parents need to make some important decisions and those should be based on evidentiary science in contrast to religious dogma.

The religious dogma is very seductive because no one wants one of their kids to suffer from gender dysphoria and possibly become transgender. Telling parents that their kids will outgrow the condition is something that most parents will want to hear and for many kids that is the reality. However, that is not always the case. Then what?

Eric Metaxas keynoting for David Lane at two events

Eric Metaxas

(via Right Wing Watch)
American Renewal Project (an affiliate of anti-LGBT hate group American Family Association) has announced that Eric Metaxas will be the keynote speaker at events this month in Fresno and Riverside, California. The intent of these events is to encourage and train pastors to run for public office in order to effect a conservative Christian theocracy on America.

Metaxas cultivates the image of an urbane intellectual sophisticate. He hosts Socrates in the City: Conversations on the Examined Life in Manhattan. There is nothing urbane, intellectual or sophisticated about these American Renewal events or the dominion theology on which they are based. These are the purest expressions of Christian Supremacy.
